I wrote this piece after a friend lost his dad to a senseless violent act in Mexico. It is the result of mixed feelings of impotence (towards these tragic circumstances), anguish (from my inability to be near my friend during his time of mourning), as well as my anger and lack of comprehension for such acts of violence.
